Grilled Chicken from Klaten



Grilled Chicken from Klaten  is one of the dishes from klaten that tastes sweet and delicious, perfect served with sambal


Ingredients :

  • 1 whole chicken, cut into 4-8 parts
  • 2 bay leaves, galangal 2 cm and crushed
  • 4 lime leaves, boned, shredded
  • 1 stalk lemongrass, white taken and crushed
  • 1/2 tablespoon of salt (to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon tamarind
  • 600 ml coconut milk from 1 coconut
  • 2 tablespoons oil for sauteing

Ground spices :

  • 1 teaspoon coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cumin and roasted
  • 10 red onions
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 5 eggs hazelnut and roasted
  • 1 cm ginger
  • 1 cm turmeric and burnt


Processing Method:
  1. Heat the oil. Saute ground spices, bay leaves, lime leaves, galangal and lemongrass until fragrant. Add chicken. Stir until the color changes.
  2. Enter the coconut milk, salt, brown sugar, and acid water. Cook until absorbed and spices and coconut milk thickened 
  3. Grilled while inverted and spread with remaining seasoning until fragrant.
